When making the annotation for the story “The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas” by Ursula K. Le Guin, my intent was to show how the author develops a social “dilemma”, more exactly how  the Omelas society depends on the suffering of one individual. Culler in the ¨Paradox of literature¨ section, explains how literature don’t necessarily follow a specific set of rules, and instead is in a constant evolution. Literature involves the reader interpreting their text with a degree of understanding above regular text, in order to understand the meaning of what author is trying to communicate.
