As we read this story, we get to know that we are being told the story of a family from one of member point of view, being of the most recurrent topics, his brother Sonny, how we were a problematic kid that went to jail but get rehabilitated into the society and become a jazz musician. The story uses powerful imagery to transport the reader to some tragic events, like the murder of his father’s brother, or the last moment of the life of their mother. He connects different points of the times, about the past and future to give a deeper understanding of his family and all events that they had gone thought. The stories started showing a very cruel circumstances that his family has overcome, and how his brother passed from being a problematic kid, to going to jail, to go rehabilitated and make proud his brother as successful in is passion of being a jazz musician.
