Blog Post #2

What Culler means about paradox of literature is that it contradicts itself, it says one thing but it doesn’t mean it literally. The readers can interpret it however they choose to, like in “Crossing the Brooklyn Ferry”. The way the writer describes as knowing a stranger beautifully, it’s the irony of knowing absolutely nothing but the feeling of knowing everything. The writers have expressed in different examples of showing paradox of literature, by telling us how they feel, see or think though the poems, that may use metaphors and compares the situations to something that wouldn’t make sense but in the context of the poem make it seem more relatable. The writer is the only one that knows what they mean but its’s up to the readers to connect the dots and map out ideas and create summaries based off their own interpretations what the poems represents.
