Culler talks about literature; he states that literature can be deceiving sometimes as well. We all “read and hear stories” and we all can believe in different meanings on part or whole story. The poem we read can show this. As we all read the same poems but can get different ideas or experiences from it. We all take in the information from them differently. There’s different types of literatures and how one takes it in. He also states,” literature is a paradoxical institution” He also adds to adjust to current formulas. I believe some poems are made to what readers nowadays like to read or take interest. For example one read this week. “Crossing Brooklyn ferry” it uses types of literature where one can take what its reading and imagine it in their mind. It pulls you in to feel what’s going on. The type of paradox is how “by testing what will happen if one writes differently” and I feel like that poem stated above could be wrote with different words and it will have a different pull of audience.
